President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku has commissioned a borehole project at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese, Kumasi.
The Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex is among several venues that have benefitted from the borehole project in the Ashanti Region.
Kurt Okraku has previously commissioned three other projects, namely the Ejisu Okese Park, Kumasi Anglican Senior High School Park (KASS), and the Wesley College School Park.
Under this comprehensive sports infrastructure improvement plan, several boreholes have been constructed across all ten Regional Football Associations in the country.
The goal is to enhance the quality of pitches and elevate the level of competition in leagues such as the Premier League, Division One League, Women's Premier League, and Regional Game centers.
President Simeon-Okraku, accompanied by Frederick Acheampong, a member of the Executive Council, and Mike Bonsu, a member of the Club Licensing Board, attended the inauguration of the borehole project.
The delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) received a warm welcome from Dr. Kwame Kyei, the Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko, and Divine Kyei, the President of Nations FC.
Funding for this borehole strategy is made possible through the FIFA Forward 1.0 program, which supports football development projects globally, with a focus on promoting accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability in the sport.
