Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo, beleives the FA will need the assistance of government to be able to develop the game of football.

According to him, it is a privilege that the Ghanaian football fraternity has Kurt Okraku as GFA President but admitted the GFA still needs the support of the government.

“There is a lot more work to be done. We continue to engage government to come in to support because we cannot do it alone from a standpoint that football should be treated more as a social endeavor and government should put more resources into strengthening the local league is something that we know that when you have a strong local league, then you have a strong national team," Mr Addo told Citi Sports.

Mark Addo is vying for a spot on the GFA’s Executive Council in the upcoming 2023 GFA Elective Congress which is expected to be held on September 27 in Tamale.
