GFA embraces South African delegation's visit to discuss 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup bid

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) warmly received a delegation from the South African Football Association (SAFA) during a working visit aimed at deliberating and soliciting Ghana's support for South Africa's bid to host the prestigious 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

The delegation, led by Tumi Dlamini, Chairperson of the South African bid for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, and accompanied by Advisor Dr. Misheck Mituze, was welcomed at the GFA Secretariat by Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq., the General Secretary of the GFA.

Notable attendees included Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, Chairman of the GFA Club Licensing Board, Mike Bonsu, a Member of the Club Licensing Board, Collins Dei, GFA Chief Finance Officer, Marian Sewaah Mensah, Director of Legal, Julius Ben Emunah, Club Licensing Manager, and Matilda Dimedo, Women's Football lead at the Communications Department.

GFA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo expressed his satisfaction with the visit and emphasized the longstanding cordial relationship between Ghana and South Africa, extending beyond the realm of football.

He assured the South African delegation of the GFA's willingness to endorse and provide further assistance to South Africa in any capacity.

Chairperson Tumi Dlamini, representing SAFA's bid for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, urged Ghana to perceive the bid as an endeavor for the entire African continent, transcending national boundaries.

Dlamini highlighted the inclusiveness of the bidding committee, with prominent figures like Aisha Johassen, the former President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, contributing to the effort.
