French-born Ghanaian forward Grejohn Kyei has opened up about playing for the Black Stars.
Kyei began his football career at Reims by playing for the Uu15-U17 categories
He made his Ligue 1 debut on 12 April 2015 against OGC Nice.
Kyei helped Stade de Reims win the 2017–18 Ligue 2 and promote to the Ligue 1 for the 2018–19 season.
“For the moment, I have not really been contacted, even if my entourage was approached before the World Cup," the Clermont Foot striker said.
"I know I'm being watched but I've never received a pre-selection. This is my next challenge to take up," he added.
In 2015, Kyei spoke to the BBC about his international career and he said, “I know everything in France because I was born here, but no one [from the Ghana Football Association] has contacted me.
"But in the future, if Ghana do call me then I have to look at that international option because you can't close doors. "I know for sure that my parents will be excited if it happens," he added.
In August 2018, Kyei joined Ligue 2 club RC Lens on loan for the season with Lens securing an option to sign him permanently.
In August 2019, Kyei joined Swiss Super League club Servette FC on a three-year contract.
On 31 January 2022, Kyei returned to France and signed with Ligue 1 side Clermont until the end of the 2021–22 season.
