In a major career move, former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has inked a groundbreaking deal with the Sudanese Football Association, signaling a significant shift in his role within the world of football.
Currently serving as a goalkeeper's coach for both Ghana's national under-20 team and the prestigious Right to Dream Academy, Dauda's transition to a high-profile position within the Sudanese FA has raised eyebrows across the footballing community.
Reports from Ghanasoccernet.com suggest that the seasoned former goalkeeper is set to pocket a whopping $770,000 annually in wages, underlining the magnitude of this landmark agreement.
Dauda will join Asante Kotoko technical director James Kwesi Appiah who has been named as head coach.
Dauda started playing football in 2004 with Okwawu United of the Ghana Division 1 League. In 2006, he joined Ashanti Gold S.C. in his birthplace of Obuasi.
The 2007 Ghana Premier League All Star Team included Dauda as a player. Dauda received a nomination for Goalkeeper of the Year 2008 in Ghana on July 5, 2008.
In 2013, Dauda moved to South Africa to play with the Orlando Pirates. He only participated in three games in the Premier Soccer League before leaving the team the next year to join Chippa United.
Dauda quit the team after just two games because he hadn't received payment. On October 1st, 2014, Dauda joined Ashanti Gold once more. Dauda joined the two-time African Champions Enyimba in December 2016.
Dauda was the starting goalkeeper for the 2013 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations and was a member of the Ghana national team for the 2008 tournament.
