North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is urging the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to embrace a more transparent and forward-looking approach in managing football in the country, especially in the wake of Ghana's disappointing performance at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Following a lacklustre performance that led to the Black Stars' early exit in the first round, Ablakwa expressed his concerns during an appearance on Metro TV.

He emphasized the need to address the issue of transparency to ensure that the limited resources allocated to sports are utilized effectively.

Ablakwa stated, "We must really make sure that the opacity is addressed so that the scarce resources we have, we can be sure exactly what we are doing with that money in sports. And that's really where we must start from. Not about appointing new look, no matter."

In response to the team's failure at the Africa Cup of Nations, the Ghana Football Association announced the formation of a five-member committee tasked with overseeing the selection of the next Black Stars coach.

GFA Vice President Mark Addo will chair the committee, with legal practitioner Ace Ankomah serving as vice-chair. Other members include William Caesar Kartey, Chief Director of the Sports Ministry, Samuel Opoku Nti, former Kotoko General Manager, and Professor J.K Mintah, the GFA's Director of Coaching Education.

Despite the committee's establishment, Ablakwa criticized the decision, expressing skepticism about the potential impact of coaching changes.

He remarked, "Even if you bring coaches like Klopp of Liverpool, the man City coach Pep Guardiola, even if you bring all of these outstanding coaches into this system, into this structure, don't expect any magic."

The Ghana Football Association has set a deadline of February 2 for all applicants interested in the Black Stars coaching position.
