Former Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has backed Ernest Nuamah following his maiden call-up to the senior national team.
The FC Nordsjaelland attacker has been named in Black Stars' 24-man squad for the matchday five games against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers later this month.
Nuamah has been a key figure for the Danish side and was a key figure for the Black Meteors squad that qualified the team for the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to be hosted in Morocco later this month.
According to Gyan, the 19-year-old merit his call-up to the Black Stars.
"Ernest Numah's call-up to the Black Stars is excellent because he is a good player," he told Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.
"I posted him after the Black Meteors qualified for the CAF U-23 AFCON and I said he will be a good player and I am happy with his inclusion," he added.
Ernest Nuamah has been named the 2022/23 Danish Superliga as the Player of the Year following a good campaign with FC Nordsjaelland.
Nuamah scored 12 goals and provided four assists Nordsjaelland fell just short of winning the Danish league title.
He has been voted the Best Player of the Spring in the 2023 Superligaen, receiving the award from Andreas Schjelderup, who won it in autumn 2022, where the Ghanaian came sixth.
