Former USA international Charlie Davies has backed his compatriot, Yunus Musah to accept an offer from Liverpool provided the Reds go in for his services.
Musah, born in New York to Ghanaian parents has been outstanding this season for Valencia despite the club’s struggle in the Spanish La Liga season.
Valencia have endured a torrid season and are on the verge of suffering relegation from the top-flight.
Speaking about the future of Musah should Liverpool enter the race, Davies, a CBS pundit said, “It’s all about going to a club that suits you. That needs your skill set. You don’t go to a club because you are a big massive club and I want to go there just to say ‘I played for this club’, but you don’t get any minutes.
“When you look at their (Liverpool’s) midfield right now, he would be in that rotation, for sure. Is it the right step for Yunus Musah from Valencia? Probably not. If Jurgen Klopp sits down with you and says ‘you are going to be in my team’, you are going to get the chance to play, then you go.
“It needs to be remembered that he is only 20 and there is bundles of potential to work with.
Someone like Klopp would be the perfect coach for Musah and a player the German can take to the next level, that’s if they decided to sign him”
Musah has made 27 appearances in the La Liga this season, providing two assists in the process.
The 20-year-old current contract with Valencia will expire in the summer of 2026.
