English Premier League giants Chelsea are set to terminate the contract of their Ghanaian defender Baba Abdul Rahman, Footballghana.com can report.
Rahman, known for his prowess as a left-back, initially joined Chelsea in 2015 from German side Augsburg. The transfer fee remains undisclosed, although reports suggest it amounted to an initial £14 million, with the potential to rise to almost £22 million.
Despite the initial promise, the talented defender has had limited opportunities to showcase his skills at Stamford Bridge, featuring in just one season for the Blues.
The Black Stars defender has had several loan spells since joining the Premier League powerhouse.
Rahman’s current contract will run out in the summer of 2024 but the Premier League club has decided to part ways with the Ghanaian defender this summer on mutual consent.
Footballghana.com understands the former Asante Kotoko defender will join Greek side PAOK as a free agent.
He is expected to sign two-year contract with the Greek giants, keeping him at the club until 2025.
The defender spent last season on loan at Championship club, Reading who suffered demotion to the League One at the end of the season.
