Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, a former Ghana international has called on Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton to consider inviting experienced players to strengthen the team.
He made these comments after Black Stars' disappointing performance against Mexico and the USA in the Otcober international friendlies.
Ghana were stunned 2-0 against the CONCACAF champions before suffering a 4-0 defeat against the US Men's national team.
With the 2026 World Cup qualifiers scheduled to kick off next month while the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) kick off in less than four months, Agyemang-Badu, who is a FIFA U-20 World Cup winner believes the team will get better but has implored the gaffer to consider the inclusion of experienced players to strengthen the team.
“It’s very worrisome, very troublesome where we are heading to but I’m really optimistic that for what I think has happened in these two games the coach (Chris Hughton) has seen what he needs to do, what he needs to react on," he told Citi Sports.
“I’m very optimistic that from next month the team will start gelling well and try to do well and if he (the coach) can add a bit of experienced players to the team I think it will help," he added.
Ghana will take on Madagascar and Comoros in the first two games of the World Cup qualifiers before the AFCON in Ivory Coast next year where they have been paired with Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
