Embattled Karela United winger, Philip Flamini, has been granted bail by the Nkroful District Court, with three sureties as reported by Domesticsportsgh.com, following charges of sexual assault and defiling a 13-year-old school girl.
The court proceedings were presided over by Her Worship Awo Amissah French.
The alleged incident took place on Saturday, April 29, at the team's club house in Edwakpole, a suburb of Aiyinase in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
The 24-year-old Ghana Premier League star has been accused of defiling a teenager. Following his arrest, Flamini was remanded in police custody for the past two weeks.
Flamini, who previously played for Sekondi Hasaacas, has been held in police custody since April 29, 2023. He is scheduled to reappear before the court on Monday, May 15, 2023.
In response to the allegations, Karela United has taken immediate action by suspending Philip Flamini pending the conclusion of the ongoing police investigation.
It is unclear if the club will allow him back to training while investigations continue.
