Defender Patrick Kpozo happy with Black Stars debut

Moldova-based defender Patrick Kpozo has expressed his excitement after making his first appearance for the Black Stars.

The 25-year-old started and lasted the entire duration in the 0-0 draw against Madagascar at the Stade Barea Mahamasina in Antananarivo on Sunday.

Kpozo was included in the 25-man squad for the Madagascar clash following his swashbuckling performance in Moldova for FC Sheriff Tiraspol.

The former Inter Allies star was given his first start in the absence of regulars, Baba Rahman and Gideon Mensah due to injuries.

After the game, Kpozo took to social media to expressed his joy whiles promising to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians in the next encounter.

"Very happy to have made my debut for the national team. Dreams come true. This isn’t what we wanted. Played on bad surface and difficult to play. Next game we will surely put a smile on the face of Ghanaians," he wrote on Facebook.

He made 24 appearances in all competitions for Moldovan champions FC Sheriff Tiraspol this season.

Kpozo won double his outfit in the just ended season (Moldovan Cup and Premier League).

Ghana remain top of the group after Sunday's draw with 9 points from five games with one more match to go in September against the Central African Republic in Kumasi.
