Premier League club Brighton has officially announced that Danny Welbeck has signed a new deal that runs until June 2024.

Welbeck signed for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion on 18 October 2020 on a free transfer on a one-year contract.

He made his debut two weeks later, coming on as a substitute for Leandro Trossard in a 2–1 away defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. He has appeared in 53 games, scoring 12 goals.

Welbeck scored his first Brighton goal in a 2–1 away league win over Aston Villa in November 2020.

Head coach Graham Potter said, “Danny has been brilliant for us from the moment he arrived. He became a part of the group quickly and has become a real leader.

“He uses his experience to help the group and is a great role model for the younger players,"

“On the pitch he has been really important for us, he gives so much to the team and I am looking forward to continuing working with Danny in the coming seasons,”
