Chance for Kamal Sowah of AZ during the Dutch Eredivisie match between AZ Alkmaar and Heracles Almelo at the AFAS stadium

Kamal Sowah was signed for 9 million euros last summer but never got a chance to play on Club Brugge's right side, which was well occupied by Andreas Skov Olsen.
After a loan brief spell with AZ Alkmaar in the second half of the season, the Ghanaian forward is back in Venice of the North.
Het Nieuwsblad reported this morning that the Gazelles would use the former OHL player, but in a different capacity. Carl Hoefkens wants to use him as an attacking midfielder in place of Hans Vanaken.
The management of Bruges, who are aware of the money spent on a player who is only 22 years old, does not want to throw money away. The player's agent would have thus been informed that a departure is no longer on the table, but that it is still planned for next season.
On 23 August 2019, Sowah scored his first two professional goals in a 6–0 victory against RFC Wetteren in the Belgian Cup.
