The head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has indicated that he wants to do his best for the Ghana national team.

According to him, although he recognises that the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament is just around the corner, he wants to focus on the upcoming games in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“I will work as hard as I always do to try to get things the best way that we can. It’s wonderful and great to want to talk about AFCON, the tournament itself but sometimes for coaches, it is difficult because we have two very important World Cup qualification games before that.

“If your concentrations are too far past that then you can take your eyes off what is at this moment the most important thing. The most important things for us at the moment are our two World Cup qualification games,” Chris Hughton shared in an interview with BBC News Africa.

In the November international break, Ghana takes on Madagascar and Comoros on November 17 and 21 respectively.
