Medeama SC official, Joseph Tetteh Zutah, has expressed the club's readiness to leave a mark in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League campaign.

Facing their debut appearance in the flagship African club competition, the Mauve and Yellow squad is geared up to confront Remo Stars of Nigeria, another team making their first appearance in the competition.

The preliminary clash's first leg is scheduled to take place at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, August 20.

Having served as the captain of the team for an impressive span of six seasons, Zutah has officially concluded his playing career.

Now assuming an administrative role within the club, the 28-year-old shared his insights with Radio Gold Sports, emphasizing Medeama's readiness to enter the competitive arena and create a lasting impact.

“We qualified by virtue of winning the Ghana Premier League and we are representing Ghana in the CAF Champions League this time round and so it is something that the club is looking up to.

“So it is something we want to make an impact so that the nation will be proud of us and CAF will be proud of the nation and if possible they can give us our lost slots.

“The good thing about Medeama and Remo Stars fixture is that, both clubs are debutantes in the CAF Champions League.

“They have also played in the CAF Confederation Cup before just as Medeama SC but we are all debutantEs in the CAF Champions League so it will be an interesting encounter.

“So we have prepared well, the playing body are very much determined and the coaching staff, everybody is doing his bit to contribute to our victory on Sunday.”
