Dutch-born striker of Ghanaian descent, Brian Brobbey has rued his missed chance in the game against AZ Alkmaar on Saturday.

The striker was in action for Ajax yesterday and had a golden opportunity to score before halftime break.

Faced with AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper Matthew Ryan one on one, Brobbey failed to score but instead shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Speaking in a post-match interview after the 1-1 draw, the talented striker said has was hugely disappointed.

'Yeah sucks. Of course, I should have taken that chance. I think I have to shoot that ball high and hard in the other corner. The keeper already guessed that I would shoot there.

"To be honest, I was looking at the ball, but I also had to look at the keeper. I also train on that with Richard Witschge,” Brian Brobbey explained to ESPN.

After the draw with AZ Alkmaar, Ajax’s chances of winning the Dutch Eredivisie title this season is gone.

The team looks set to miss Uefa Champions League football next season as well.
