Black Stars have now turned their attention to the second friendly match against the United States of America after the defeat to Mexico.
Chris Hughton’s side conceded two second-half goals from Hirving Lozano and Uriel Antuna at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
That means the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager has suffered his first defeat as Black Stars head coach since taking charge of his debut match in March this year.
The Black Stars will now be looking to impress against the United States following the defeat to the El Tri on Wednesday dawn.
Kick-off is also scheduled for 12:30 am GMT at the Geodis Park in Tennessee.
In today’s game, Ghana managed to hold Mexico to a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes but that resistance was broken just under 15 minutes into the second half.
Mexico took the lead in the 57th minute through PSV forward Hirving Lozano who picked on Ghana’s poor defensive organisation to slot in at the right post of Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
The North Americans doubled their advantage in the 72nd minute through substitute Uriel Antuna who plays club football for Dynamo Moscow.
The 26-year-old picked a through ball that split Ghana’s defence before putting away to condemn Ghana to a defeat.
The game ended 2-0 against the Black Stars as they could not manage a shot on target in the entire game.
