Coach Nora Hauptle has set her sights on guiding Black Queens to the top four of Africa in the upcoming 2024 TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

The tournament, which will be hosted by Morocco, will serve as the biggest test for the Black Queens since their last appearance in the showpiece event in 2018.

The landscape of women's football in Africa has seen a significant shift in recent years, with South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia all having impressive continental campaigns. However, Ghana has been out of action, and watching these teams perform on the big stage.

Despite the challenge of breaking into this elite group, Hauptle is undeterred. In an interview with BBC Sports, she expressed her ambition to lead the Black Queens back to the top four of African football, even hinting at the possibility of winning a trophy.

"We want to come back to the top four of Africa," she said.

"Maybe even win a trophy," she added.

Hauptle's determination was recently tested in Zambia during the Olympic qualifiers for Paris 2024. The Black Queens were on the brink of qualifying when a last-minute free-kick from the Copper Queens captain dashed their Olympic dreams.

Undeterred by this setback, Hauptle remains focused on her goal, aiming to turn the Black Queens into a force to be reckoned with in African women's football.
