Bank of Ghana presents sets of jerseys to GHALCA to support women’s football

The Bank of Ghana on Tuesday, May 16, made a presentation of sets of jerseys to the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA).

The move is part of efforts to support women’s football in the country.

After taking delivery of the sets of jerseys, GHALCA President Kudjoe Fianoo expressed his excitement and appreciation to the Central Bank for responding favourably to their call and supporting them with the procurement of a set of 20 Jerseys and other sporting wear.

He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Bank and admonished other institutions to emulate the kind gesture.

Delivering an address during the presentation, Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif reiterated the commitment of the government to provide infrastructure which is the fundamental need for sporting activities in the country.

He stressed that so far government in partnership with corporate bodies has provided as many as 136 Astro turfs across the country.

On his part, the head of Human Resources of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs. Gladys Awuku noted that it was the culture of the Bank to provide support as part of their corporate social responsibility for the development of not only women's football but also other activities worthy of support.

She said the bank supported a worthy cause with an amount of GHS300,000 which was premised on the request from GHALCA.
