Spanish La Liga side, Athletic Bilbao are in advanced talks to extend the contract of Ghanaian youngster Nico Williams.
The Spain-born attacker has been in fantastic form since the new 2022/23 La Liga season commenced.
Having been impressed with the output of the attacker, officials of Athletic Bilbao have decided to tie him down to a long-term contract.
According to sources in Bilbao, talks have progressed very well and the youngster will sign a new deal in the coming weeks.
The current contract of Nico Williams will expire in the summer of 2024.
The new deal when signed will extend to 2026.
Before the start of the new football season, Nico who is the younger brother of Black Stars' new boy Inaki Williams was a transfer target of a number of clubs in Europe.
It is understood that he is being monitored by English Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool.
