"His time is up and should vacate the seat for elections", he told Kumasi-based media outlet Ashh FM.
"Normally, there is a procedure for you to start modality form when your tenure is three months due to expiration, for a new Chairman to be sworn in"But most people have given deaf ear to that, hold and behold, Obeng Sekyere came to meeting one Saturday asking for his tenure to be extended for 2-years"
"We boycotted a proposed fund-raising in order to show our displeasure to the two years extension Obeng Sekyere was seeking in office".
He added that, later some information said there has been ban placed on election, therefore no one should hold an election which was untrue.
"No letter suggest or confirms ban on election, not at all...There should be such to define the length of the ban either a year or two if indeed but nothing of such has been seen".
"What we are saying, it's simple we want election to be held now and not later"
"They came with a roadmap that July to September local elections will be held then November/December for regional elections which I stood against because they don't have the mandate"
"We need interim body to organize this election, Benjamin Obeng Sekyere term of office is over and there should be election as soon as possible", he concluded.
It appears, majority of the Ashanti Region National Circles Council are concern about it and are in support calling for elections to be organized now and not November as Obeng Sekyere and his entourage wants it.
