Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential aspirant, Amanda Clinton, has voiced her call for the 2023 GFA Elections Presidential candidate, George Afriyie, to be treated with greater respect in light of his disqualification from the race.
Afriyie's disqualification arose due to endorsement issues, a decision that has drawn attention and scrutiny within the Ghanaian football community.
Clinton expressed her views during an interview on Citi FM's Eye Witness News. She noted that the incumbent GFA President, Kurt Okraku, appears set to run unopposed in the 2023 GFA Elections Presidential race following Afriyie's removal from contention.
The disqualification was made by the GFA Elections Committee, which cited an endorsement-related ineligibility as grounds for the decision. This verdict was subsequently affirmed by the Appeals Committee earlier this week.
Commenting on Kurt Okraku's uncontested bid for the GFA Presidency, Clinton stated, "I think it's wrong because the mark of a true leader is to exercise discretion, flexibility, and courtesy to a former Vice President of the GFA; without it, you cannot lead effectively."
