The legal battle between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Ashantigold Football Club has been ongoing for some time now, with both parties fighting to assert their rights and interests.

The case has been the subject of intense scrutiny and speculation within the football community and the wider public. Recently, there have been new developments in the case as it has been reported that the substantive case will resume on May 8th.

This announcement has generated significant interest and anticipation as the two sides prepare to present their arguments and evidence before the court.

On Matchday 34 of the 2020–2021 season, Ashantigold crushed Inter Allies 7–0 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Following a probe, the GFA Prosecutor charged several of the Miners' players and club executives and accused them of three counts of misconduct for breaking the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019, and the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.

The GFA's Disciplinary Committee ruled the four-time League winners guilty of match tampering, and they were consequently relegated to Division Two.

Ashnatigold not happy with the verdict from the GFA Prosecutor took the Ghana FA to court.
