Accra High Court has taken a decision further prolonging the eagerly awaited verdict on the Ashgold match-fixing scandal.

Spectators and football enthusiasts alike will have to exercise their patience as the court recently announced that the highly anticipated judgment has been postponed until August 21st.

This unexpected delay has left the football community on edge, intensifying speculation and heightening tensions surrounding the outcome of this high profile case.

The case centers on Ashantigold's appeal of their demotion to Division Two in 2017 after being found guilty of match-fixing by the GFA Disciplinary Committee.

Ashanti Gold are requesting that the court reverse their demotion and order the nation's football association to give them a fair hearing.

The 29th GFA Congress, which was convened in Kumasi on July 10th, decided to suspend Ashanti Gold's from all football activities in Ghana.

At the Congress, 67 members voted in favour of the continuous suspension of the Obuasi-based club, with 17 voting against it.
