The Black Queens of Ghana triumphed over their counterpart from Benin on Friday evening in the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Paris, France.

The national teams of the two countries locked horns today in the first leg of the second round of the qualifiers.

In a game played at the Stade de l’Amitié – Général Mathieu Kerekou, the Black Queens of Ghana dominated the contest and scored the goals to make it count at the end of the 90 minutes.

At the end of the first half, only a single goal separated the two national teams.

A penalty kick awarded to Ghana was converted by goal poacher Doris Boaduwaa who plays her football in Serbia for ŽFK Spartak Subotica.

After recess, Benin had a plan to get back into the game but not the quality to execute the plan.

Courtesy of a brace from Gifty Assifuah who scored in the 73rd and 78th minutes respectively, Ghana cruised to a deserved 3-0 victory at the end of the game.

The Black Queens will now return to Ghana and prepare for the reverse fixture of the tie to be played on Tuesday, October 31.
