The 2023 GFA Elections concluded with a notable absence of challengers for the incumbent GFA President, Kurt Okraku.

This development has raised eyebrows across the football family, prompting experienced observers like Jerome Otchere, former Editor of Kotoko Express, to label it as an unfortunate occurrence.

The 2023 GFA Elective Congress was held in Tamale on Thursday, October 5th, 2023. The was supervised and monitored by FIFA, CAF, and WAFU.

Kurt Okraku continued to serve as the GFA President as he faced no opposition.

"It’s very difficult for me to call it an election because if you are looking at that of the EXCO (Executive Council), yes, there were people contesting for various seats and so there was an election there. In the case of the FA President, I will not call that an election,” he told Citi Sports.

“I have said that there was no contest we shouldn’t make it look like there was a contest and Kurt won. He had no competitor, he had people who were ready to acclaim him whether or not they like him and that is what happened. It’s very unfortunate,” he added.
