Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton, has assured that the technical staff will prepare the team in the best way to compete in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ghana, who are on a quest to compete at the 34th edition of the AFCON will compete in the 34th edition of the tournament in Ivory Coast.
Ghana goes into the tournament under a lot of pressure after crashing out of the 2021 AFCON edition without a win but Hughton believes his technical team will work hard to get the team ready for the competition in the best way.
However, speaking at the farewell dinner on Tuesday night in Kumasi, the former Premier League manager said they will prepare the team in the best way to compete at the tournament.
“The spirit in this camp has been very good. We will make sure from the technical staff point of view that we would have prepared the players the very best way that we can going into this competition. I am quite sure that none of the players would leave anything behind," he added.
The Black Stars have departed for Ivory Coast on Wednesday morning for the tournament that gets underway this weekend.
Ghana is in Group B for the tournament and will face Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.
The Black Stars of Ghana will first come up against Cape Verde at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on January 14, 2024, then face Egypt at the same venue four days later and then Mozambique at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on January 22, 2024.
