Black Stars forward, Jordan Ayew, has dismissed talks suggesting that the current squad are not committed to play for the country.
The Ghana national team under Chris Hughton has been widely criticized due to their lack of urgency and determination to win games.
The four-time African champions opened their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament with a 2-1 defeat against Cape Verde.
However, Jordan Ayew speaking ahead of the second Group B clash with Egypt, the Crystal Palace forward says he disagrees that the current playing body lacks commitment to fight for the country.
"Well, first of all, I don't agree with that. No one lacks commitment," Jordan said in a pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
"Everyone who plays football, this is bread and butter and everyone gives this 100%.
"Everyone is fully committed. Just that sometimes things go your way things, and other times things don't go your way," the 31-year-old added.
The result against the Blue Sharks leaves Ghana in a precarious situation as the country faces serial winners of this tournament later tonight.
"...tomorrow is going to be a tough game. We put ourselves in this situation and we need to come out of it.
"[As I said] sometimes things go your way sometimes things don't go your way.
"But we need to force things and tomorrow [Thursday against Egypt], we're going to force things and we'll see after."
For the players to salvage the situation he said is self-inflicted, they would have to play above themselves.
"I think we need to do more that's for sure and we are ready to do more and we're going to do more so nobody should worry about that.
"Tomorrow is a big day and we know that it's a big day and we know how much it means to Ghanaians and for us.
"We want to perform, we want to perform in this tournament. We didn't just come here just to visit Abidjan, we came here to to perform well.
"We'll see what happens tomorrow because we're ready. I wouldn't agree when you people say people lack commitment," he said.
Kick-off for the much-anticipated game has been scheduled at 20:00GMT.
