Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has promised his team will improve on their performance against Cape Verde when they take on Egypt on Thursday night in their second group match at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
So many things were criticised in that 2-1 defeat to the Blue Sharks on Sunday night in their tournament opener.
Egypt are the record winners of the competition and were the runners up from the last edition.
Speaking ahead of the clash at a press conference, Hughton said, “We know we are up against a very good team that I used to doing well at this tournament.
“Our responsibilities are to assess in our last game what we should have done better and to make sure that we come improve going into the next game.”
Egypt as well needed a late Mohamed Salah penalty to hold Mozambique to a 2-2 draw in their opening match too.
That leaves Group B open, with the record winners and Mozambique having one point each behind Cape Verde while Ghana are bottom of the group.
The Black Stars game against the Pharaohs will be played at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan.
