In response to the reported challenges faced by Ghanaian football supporters in Cote D’Ivoire during the 2023 AFCON, Wisdom Kobena Woyome, a ranking member of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Parliamentary Committee, announced that committee members will be traveling to Cote D’Ivoire to address the issues.
The supporters, reportedly transported by the government to back Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, are said to be encountering difficulties at the Entrée Hotel Memi in Abidjan.
Over 300 supporters are allegedly without essential services such as food, water, and proper accommodation, contrary to promises made by government officials.
Honourable Woyome assured in an interview, “We will be there, and some others will be joining… so we will get to know a lot more about the happenings and be able to speak to them properly, non-speculatively.”
One frustrated supporter conveyed their distress to Citi News, stating, “they should come and take us back to Ghana because all of us
