The Black Stars intensified their preparations for the crucial 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier with a training session at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday evening.
This marked the team's second training session since they convened on Monday, gearing up for the pivotal match against the Central African Republic.
A total of 24 players actively participated in the session, with the notable absence of Joseph Paintsil among the originally invited 25 players, due to an injury.
The team initiated their preparations with their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday evening, with a contingent of 12 players. Following this, they made their way to Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon in readiness for the upcoming fixture.
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, Ghana is slated to host the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the concluding Group E encounter.
Currently, Chris Hughton's squad leads Group E with nine points, holding a one-point advantage over Angola and a two-point lead over the Central African Republic. Madagascar trails the group with two points.
The Black Stars require only one point from the match to secure their qualification for the tournament scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast next January, a goal they are earnestly pursuing.
