Ghana coach, Chris Hughton has said Black Stars' final group game against the Central Africa Republic (CAR) is a must-win game.
The senior national team were hoping to secure a win to seal qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Madagascar.
However, after 90 minutes of action, the game ended goalless at the Mahamasina Municipal Stadium in the matchday five games on Sunday.
The results leave the Black Stars still on top of Group E with 9 points and will host CAR in their final game on September 4.
According to the former Premier League manager, it s a must-win game for the team to secure qualification for the tournament that will be hosted in Ivory Coast next.
"Our strategy for the next match is to win. We are playing at home. We know we have to get the result and obviously, it’s a game we know the consequences if we don’t win. From here, we have a break," he told the Ghana FA website after the game.
"The players will have to go back to their clubs and they will start preseason and we will be ready for the game in September. We have some players missing today so hopefully, those players will be available in September.
"We will be going into another difficult game against Central African Republic and we have to win," he added.
