Former Ghana coach, Otto Addo, says the Black Stars will have difficulty in breaking down Cape Verde and Mozambique at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana is in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
Reacting to Ghana’s chances in the group, Otto Addo said the Pharaohs are the easiest to play against because they are the favourites.
“I think the easiest game may be against Egypt because their team is very well balanced. They are the favourites in this game so it is easier to stand behind when people don’t expect too much from you,” he told GTV Sports Plus.
“It’s easier than to play the so called small countries which are football educated, know how to defend and it will be very, very tough to break them down.
“Once we score a goal against these countries, it gets easier. It’s a long way and its hard work.”
Ghana is set to open their group stage campaign against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
The Black Stars will then play against record champions Egypt in their second group match against Egypt in four days before wrapping up the group face against Mozambique on January 22.
