Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum beleives the Black Stars can make it to the next round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Ghana sit at the bottom of Group B after suffering a 2-1 defeat against Cape Verde in their opener on Sunday night.
The Black Stars who are seeking to end the country's 42-year trophy drought will face record champions, Egypt in their group game on Thursday, January 18.
However, Asante Twum speaking to BBC Sports in an interview said the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have offered their support to Chris Hughton following the defeat against the Island nation.
According to him, it is still possible the Black Stars can still make it to the next round of the tournament by winning against Egypt and Mozambique.
"We have had a meeting with the coach and gave him 100% assurance that we are solidly behind him," he said.
"We think it is possible for the team to win the two remaining matches to make it to the next round," Asante-Twum added.
The Ghana game against the Pharaohs which will be staged at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan has been scheduled at 20:00GMT.
