In a thrilling showdown on Thursday evening at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana's performance left fans on the edge of their seats as they battled Egypt to a 2-2 draw.
Despite the shared points, forward Antoine Semenyo was candid in acknowledging the team's shortcomings.
"Individual errors failed us but we played well as a team we needed the reaction after the first game and we have done that so we have to win on Monday," he after the game.
"(Kudus) is one of our players he is the star boy he gets on the ball create stuff and scores like he did today so he is a great addition to have. The first game was very slow lacked intensity but today we needed the reaction we needed to be in it to run around and show our presence.
"We have to make less mistakes I think individual mistakes is what failed us but what can we do. The performance today was very good bar the errors everyone pressed we worked so we go on Monday and win,"
With seconds to halftime, Kudus seized the moment, capitalizing on a precision pass from Samed Salis. The net rippled as his powerful shot found its mark, sending the Ghanaian fans into euphoria. Yet, Kudus wasn't done.
In the second half, the midfielder showcased his versatility, receiving a sublime pass from Denis Odoi and skillfully curling his second goal into the net.
Egypt scored through Omar Marmoush in the 69th minute and Mostafa Mohamed in the 74th minute.
Ghana will now turn its attention to the must-win game against Mozambique which will be played on Monday 22nd January 2024. The game will kick off at 20:00 GMT.
