Ghana’s Group B opponents Cape Verde secured a spot in the Round of 16 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations by defeating Mozambique 3-0 in their second match on Friday afternoon at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium.
The win means the Blue Sharks are top of the group and are the only team so far to win their first group games.
Bebé scored the first goal for Cape Verde in the 32nd minute to send the Blue Sharks into the break 1-0 up.
Ryan Mendes added the second goal six minutes after the break before Kevin Lenini scored the third goal in the 69th minute.
With this victory, Cape Verde demonstrated their strength in the tournament, earning the reputation of "dark horses" of AFCON 2023

Egypt is second with two points from two games while the Black Stars are third with one point and only ahead of Mozambique because of the goal difference.
