Two errors cost Ghana two valuable points against Egypt In their second Group B game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mohammed Kudus scored twice but two errors gifted the record winners the equalising goals in quick succession.

The draw leaves Ghana bottom of the group with just one point.

Here are five things we learned from the game.

Fast start

Ghana has started a game on the front foot for the first time in a long while. It showed that at least they were ready to fight for the shirt, something missing for a long time. That reflected in Ghana's dominating possession in the first quarter of the match.

Impact of Mohammed Kudus

The presence of Mohammed Kudus in Ghana’s starting lineup really lifted the spirit of the team. He showed that by scoring two important goals.

Intensity and commitment of Black Stars

For large spells of the game, the intensity of the Black Stars was up there, something we’ve not seen in a very long time from the team, especially under Chris Hughton. There was a lot of commitment and real hard work shown in that game.

Errors cost Ghana

Egypt’s equaliser came from an Inaki Williams back pass which Marmoush punished. The second equaliser again was immediately from an error from Osman Bukari who just came on to replace Inaki Williams.

Improved performance from defenders

The organisation and the output from Ghana’s backline, very much better than what we saw against Cape Verde. They made some huge clearances under so much pressure.
