Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Nana Oduro Sarfo, has issued a warning to the Black Stars, urging them to secure a victory against Egypt to enhance their prospects in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

In their second Group B match at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan tonight, Ghana is set to face the record champions.

Following a 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde in their tournament opener on Sunday, Chris Hughton's team must secure a win against Egypt to maintain their chances of breaking a 42-year trophy drought.

Expressing his thoughts ahead of the crucial game, the former CEO of Berekum Chelsea emphasized that the players should find motivation within themselves and strive to emerge victorious against the Pharaohs.

According to Mr Oduro Sarfo, "There is no motivation that is bigger than them trying to win today's game there is no motivation that is bigger than they motivating themselves," he told Adom FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.

"After the match, we have spoken to them a lot but they have their motivation in their hands. They are holding their destiny in their hands I believe with a good lineup today I think we will see heaven," he added.

The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 20:00 GMT.
