Former Ghana midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu beleives the Black Stars can cause havoc in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) slated to be hosted in Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars qualified for Africa's prestigious tournament after beating Central Africa Republic 3-1 in their final Group E game of the qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi earlier this month.
Ghana is looking to break a 41-year AFCON trophy drought but Badu, who played in the 2015 AFCON final believes Ghana can cause havoc if players perform at the various clubs.
“Now we have four months to go what do we need to do, the first option is the players should get playing time at their club sides," he told Accra-based Radio Gold.
“Because they will not get a lot of time to come and train or to know themselves very well, that is the first priority now and we pray that injuries will not affect us as we saw in the qualifiers.
“We are now building a team and so when you miss certain players at certain stages it means cohesion-wise, you will be having difficulties.
“You will only rely on individual brilliance so throughout the qualifiers, you could see that we were not playing that well but we were scoring with individual brilliance.
“So playing time, we hope that injury free and with the quality we have, if we support them, I think we can cause havoc in Ivory Coast," he added.
Ghana meanwhile will discover their group phase opponents on October 12.
