The city of Yamoussoukro is buzzing with excitement as the Charles Konan Banny Stadium prepares for the highly anticipated 2023 Afcon.
With just five days remaining before it hosts its inaugural match, the stadium, named in honor of former Ivory Coast President Charles Konan Banny, is abuzz with activity.
Nestled in the heart of Yamoussoukro, this impressive 20,000-seat arena will be a battleground for teams from Group C, including the football powerhouses of Cameroon, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, and Gambia.
Today the stadium came alive with the concerted efforts of a dedicated team comprising staff and subcontracting companies. Their collective mission: to ensure that every detail is meticulously attended to, leaving no room for imperfection.
The Stadium was named after former Ivory Coast President Charles Konan Banny who served as prime minister from 7 December 2005 until 4 April 2007.
