Ghana has unveiled the squad numbers for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), as the Black Stars set their sights on a historic fifth title.
With an Afcon trophy that has proven elusive for four decades, Ghana enters the tournament with a hunger.
Goalkeeper Richard Ofori wears jersey number 1, Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey wears number 22, rising star Ernest Nuamah will feature in number 24, and Medeama duo striker Jonathan Sowah and Fatawu Hamidu pick up numbers 27 and 17 respectively.
Currently, the Ghanaian national team is deep in preparation, with Kumasi serving as the backdrop for rigorous training sessions ahead of the AFCON showdown.
Ghana Premier League side Nations FC's home ground Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex serves as the training venue for the senior national team.
To further fine-tune their skills and strategies, the Black Stars are scheduled to engage in a pre-AFCON friendly game against Namibia on January 8th.
