Accra Great Olympics avoided relegation from the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League aafter securing a 2-1 win over Nsoatreman FC at the WAFA Park on Sunday.

The win was crucial and aided by a defeat to Tamale City at champions Medeama SC.

The Dade boys claimed a 14th place finish with 45 points, three points of the relegation places.

Great Olympics opened the scoring in the 50th minute through Michael Osei after a barren first half to set the tone for their safety charge.

Former Asante Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey added the second goal thirteen minutes later to give Bismark-Kobi Mensah’s side some breathing space.

The visitors tried to mount a comeback that would have complicated things for the home side but it was not enough.

Walid Fuseini scored a 78th minute consolation to end the game 2-1.

Nsoatreman finished 14th with 46 points in their first top flight campaign. They will be hoping to do better next season.
