Former Ghana youth star Awudu Issaka has predicted doom for Ghana Premier League returnees Bofoakwa Tano.
Bofoakwa Tano made a triumphant return to the Ghana Premier League on Tuesday after spending over a decade outside the top flight.
In a tense playoff match held at the Accra Sports Stadium, Bofoakwa defeated Techiman Eleven Wonders to secure their promotion.
The match ended 1-1 after regulation time, leading to a nail-biting penalty shootout. Bofoakwa emerged victorious, winning 7-6 in the shootout, and thus clinched their spot in the prestigious Ghana Premier League.
In an interview, the 1995 FIFA World Cup winner asserted Bofoakwa Tano lack matured players and is of the opinion the club will relegated again should they stick to the current squad for the Premier League next season.
“Bofoakwa Tano needs more players ahead of the GPL season. They can only boast of a few matured players in the team, so I will urge the management to recruits quality players from the Division One and Premier League in order to get a solid squad for upcoming season”
“I think they can maintain their status in the league if they are able to augment their squad but if they stick to the same players they will be relegated again” he said.
Bofoakwa Tano join Heart of Lions and Nations FC for next season’s Ghana Premier League campaign.
